Performance Guidelines

Soloists and teams are welcome to apply.

Performances must be 5 minutes or less.

Submit your selected song(s). Performance mixes are welcome.

Songs from K-pop and global groups (including artists such as XG, KATSEYE and SANTOS BRAVOS) are permitted.

Original choreography, self-created choreography, and dance covers are all welcome.

There is no minimum age requirement. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental or legal guardian permission to participate.

In addition, all minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (18 years of age or older) for the duration of the event.

Changing rooms will not be available. Nearby public restrooms may be used for changing if needed.

Performances will take place on stage in the Roy Wilkins Arena. Please ensure to arrive early and check in prior to performance.

Props are welcome provided they are safe and appropriate for all ages.

Confetti, glitter, pyrotechnics, smoke effects, and other messy or hazardous materials are strictly prohibited.

Personal electrical equipment or additional sound equipment is not permitted.
Dance Competition Information
Doors Open: 11:00 AM
Performer Check-In: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM (subject to change)
Check-In Required: All selected performers must arrive and check in during the designated check-in period. Failure to check in may result in disqualification from the performance schedule.
No-Show Policy: If you are selected to perform and fail to attend without notifying the event organizers prior to the event, you will be ineligible to participate in any KPOP MINNECON performance opportunities for one (1) year. If an emergency arises, please contact the event team as soon as possible.
One Performance Only: Performers may participate in either a solo performance or a team performance, but not both. Applications submitted for both categories will not be accepted, and participants will be asked to choose one.
Previous Winners: To encourage new talent and provide opportunities for more performers, previous first-place winners from past KPOP MINNECON performance events are not eligible to compete in the same category again.
Age Requirements: Participants under the age of 18 must have parental or legal guardian permission to participate and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (18 years of age or older) for the duration of the event.
Performance Readiness: Performers must be fully prepared with their music, choreography, and costumes before the event. Technical rehearsals or additional practice time will not be provided.
Appropriate Content: Performances must be suitable for an all-ages audience. Music, choreography, costumes, and gestures containing excessive profanity, explicit themes, or inappropriate content may result in disqualification.
Time Limit: All performances must remain within the maximum time limit specified by the event organizers. Performances exceeding the allotted time may be stopped or scored accordingly.
Sportsmanship: Participants are expected to demonstrate respect toward fellow performers, judges, staff, volunteers, and attendees. Unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or disruptive behavior may result in immediate disqualification and removal from the event.
Organizer Discretion: KPOP MINNECON reserves the right to modify schedules, rules, or performance order as necessary and to disqualify any participant who fails to comply with event policies or instructions from staff.

Private social media accounts may be less likely to be selected if sufficient performance references are not provided.
All information submitted with your application is considered final. Please carefully review all names, biographies, social media handles, pronunciations, song selections, and promotional photos before submitting, as this information may be used in event marketing materials.
